Olivier Gagnère

Designer, self taught. Designer furniture and objects.

He lives and works in Paris, France. He began his career in 1980 working with Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis group in Italy, then creates glass objects made by the glassmakers of Murano and Arita porcelain in Japan. It works with Master Craftsmen French, Japanese and Chinese and French brands but also with galleries Kréo, Maeght, Néotu and Modern Movements.

Among his most famous creations include in 1992 for Bernardaud Porcelain, a collection of coffee cups, tea "Ithaca" and "Lipari" sold around the world.
In 1994 he decorated the Cafe Marly at the Louvre Museum in Paris, where he designed all the furniture and fixtures and the tea room Bernardaud, rue Royale in Paris.
In 1995, the Crystal of St. Louis commissioned him to create a collection of glasses, vases and lamps, the same year he began his collaboration with Limited Edition and is continuing with Bernardaud collections.
In 1998 he was elected Designer of the Year by the Maison & Objet. And in 2003 he rearranges partly Cabaret Lido de Paris with chandeliers created for that Veronese.
In 2005, the Forge de Laguiole assigned a collection of knives. In 2007 for Designer's Day, he presented his new collection for Mikado Veronese.
Recently, he signed the reception areas of the Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées.
In 2007, the famous Chef, Pierre Gagnaire, entrusted the creation of his upscale restaurant on nearly 1000 m2 in Seoul, Korea. His work in Japan with Arita porcelain are in museums.
China in Shanghai, a solo exhibition has been reserved in 2006 where he manufactured some of his pieces for Ms. Pearl Lam. His works are included in the collections of major museums, MOMA in New York, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, the National Center of Art and Culture Georges Pompidou, the FNAC (Fonds National d'Art Contemporain) The Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.
In 2006 a retrospective exhibition at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Beijing and the Museum of Modern Art in Shanghai.
