Robert Mathieu

Robert Mathieu is one of the best creators and lighting publishers in France in the 50s but it is probably the least known. There is unfortunately very little documentation of his work except for some commercial advertising  published in magazines.

Both models designer lighting fixtures among the most inventive, but also watch furniture, and became his own manufacturer, which makes its production very rare.

Under the name "R.Mathieu Luminaires Rationnel", he developed three lines of light: The first was published from 1950 to 1951 around a system of double shade (Diabolo), the second in 1953 use reflectors on aluminum lacquered chandeliers, lamps or sconces with system, then from 1956 to 1958, he invented a range of scones, top lights, lights, lacquered gray metalized counterweight and whose reflectors are white Perplex. Alas, he produces its lights for a too short time.
